A flush is a five card hand that contains the same suit in consecutive order. This is a very good hand. A straight is a five card hand that contains the five cards in the same rank. This is a very good hand as well. A three of a kind is a three distinct pairs of cards. This is a very good hand as it beats most hands in the game. High card breaks ties. This is the highest card in your hand. Then you can add these to your other cards to make a winning poker hand.
